History was made on March 23, 2010 with President Obama’s startling win of the health care reform vote. His electrifying speech the day before will be remembered by many as being open, impassioned and earnest. President Obama has proved that ‘yes, he can’ bring change to America. A gross injustice was being overlooked, glossed over even, for eons and is now finally going to be redressed. America’s health care system provides healthcare to the nonworking poor through Medicaid, but ostracizes the working poor. Additionally, insurance companies get to choose who to sell plans to. Government run Medicare and Medicaid are managed inefficiently and are too costly by far. The health care reform bill will address the above, but will nevertheless need several revisions and improvisations before it is finally rolled out. But change is in the air; come let us embrace the new order of things!
